One of the joys of being a Reno Photographer is consistently getting to photograph amazing people, especially incredibly talented models. Sara Carlson is one of my favorite local models to work with. She has an amazing look, beautiful smile, is highly intelligent, and is always in incredible shape. I wanted to take some photos of Sara in the Nevada desert outside of Reno, but I wanted to incorporate a classic rat rod truck. Thankfully my good buddy Phil had the perfect 1966 Ford F100 truck that was exactly what I was looking for, so we all jumped into our vehicles and headed out to the location that I had in mind for our shoot. After arriving at our initial location and finding it was closed off and not available to photograph at, we started to drive further and deeper into the desert in search of the right place to create the images I had in my mind. After driving for some time I saw a hawk flying over head as we turned down the path that I was confident would produce the perfect location for us. Sure enough, after a few more minutes of driving we came upon a spot that looked perfect for our shoot. Check out some images from our photo shoot!
After the end of the shoot we started packing up my camera and lighting gear only to have my buddy Phil discover a rattlesnake parked under my vehicle rattling his tail to let us know to back off. As we all debated our strategy on how to get the gear into the vehicle before the sun went completely down, slowly but surely the rattlesnake slithered away off into the sunset.
